Participating in this course has helped me to overcome challenges of everyday life and is good for my general wellbeing. I’ve learned how to notice sensations in my inner body and can take control of how I feel just by breathing!
In situations that cause me stress, anxiety or anger, I am able to change these feelings into calmness and warmth. With practice, tuning into my inner body has become habit and a very useful tool.
For me, the Inner Sense programme has been a serendipitous complement to the other healing methods I'm engaged with at this time (IFS psychotherapy & Functional medicine). It has offered me accessible, affirming and synergistic information and practices, all aiding the transformation of dis-ease to wellbeing. The programme has my gratitude and my recommendation.
I found the Inner Sense programme hugely beneficial to my personal wellbeing, as well as fascinating. Despite teaching Mindfulness and having a daily Ashtanga yoga practice, I had only a vague understanding of the term ‘interoception’. The practical exercises from Inner Sense tied in well with my existing practice but helped me become much more aware of my internal bodily sensations, as well as the link between them and the way I feel and my emotions. I enjoyed the regular zoom meetings too. Ian led them well and felt a real sense of connection with the other participants. I learned from their experiences as well as from the information given by Ian. I liked the way the programme gives a scientific rationale for some of the practices, and felt that it provided the link between certain contemplative practices like meditation, and neuroscience. So for a sceptic like me, this made the message really stick! The programme provides a really practical way to improve wellbeing, and is easy to follow!
